  I wondered if someone else might have posted on this, but I couldn't find those threads until AFTER I was informed the study material had already been covered. Please find it in your spleen to forgive me.

  Note to those unfamiliar with the character called "Thirteen":

  A. She's a very intelligent medical doctor, which means she did NOT attend AWAKE! University.

  B. She is bi-sexual.

  C. She has a past history of selling drugs.

  D. She has assisted suicides.

  E. She is not portrayed as a pedophile, so she cannot be a JW. All JWs are pedophiles or pedophile sympathizers.

  F. She has Huntington's Disease, a neurodegenerative genetic disorder that affects muscle coordination and leads to cognitive decline and dementia. It typically becomes noticeable in middle age.. She has arranged for her own suicide when she feels the time is right.

  The character is NOT a JW and is not intended to be mistaken for one. She and House are two intelligent people having fun with a bit of esoterica, that's all. Don't get your sacred panties in a bunch.

  One of the doctors who has worked with House is Dr. Remy Hadley played by Olivia Wilde. Dr. Hadley is most frequently called "thirteen" because she was the thirteenth person to apply to work with House, and House could never remember her name, so he called her by her number.

  

  In recent past episodes, "thirteen" has been absent, but in the episode that aired April 11, 2001 titled "The Dig" she re-appears, and we learn that she has been in jail. House shows up to drive her home. At one point during the trip home, House stops at an address Thirteen has given him.

  House waits in the car while she gets out, goes to the door and rings the bell. A man answers, and after a brief greeting we can't hear, she knees the householder in the groin. She returns to the car, and House says to her, "I didn't know you were a Jehovah's Witness." She replies, "The weak lost faith when Christ didn't return in '75, but I still believe." (She was being sarcastic.)

  Beck is a former alcoholic who learned to substitute fundementalist Mormonism for booze, thus increasing his intoxication.

  He's a convinced believer in Biblical "end times" prophecies, which fact stands as damning proof that he is not rational.

  They may say that even a broken clock is right twice a day, but without a functional clock, you never know when the broken clock is correct.

  Somewhere, a circus is erecting a new tent.

  I'm Starting To Understand Atheist and Evolution

  for many years i was sincerely perplexed when someone told me they believed in the evolution theory or were an atheist.

  i never understood how someone could ignore all the evidence for intelligent design and overlook all the holes in the evolution theory.

  for example, the human biology clock is synced with the rotation of the earth, the earth is the perfect distance away from the sun to sustain life, the earth has an ozone layer to protect us from the sun's radiation, the earth naturally produces fruits and vegetables to be used for food, our bodies produce enzymes to break down the fruits and vegetables so it can nourish us, the earth produces water and oxygen, etc.

  I find the story of the cola deliveryman above ironic in view of the fact that "Judge" Rutherford was a very close personal buddy of one of the Coca-Cola heirs and probably benefited greatly due to his association with such a wealthy person. As far as I know, it is unclear today if any portion of Coca-Cola is owned by the WTB&TS; the company is very private about their history and associations.
